Case Logic VHS-101 Portable Hard Drive Case (Black)

Comment: Good basic case - my hard drive is really small and it feels a little big (its a NESO 320GB) but I just bought the Toshiba 320GB for my husband and its perfect for that. The outside pocket is really handy no buttons or clasps and so access is easy without giving you the feeling it will drop out at any moment. Its also padded enough to feel like the drive is safe when transported - which was key for me.

Comment: This case does NOT fit Seagate 250gb portable hard drive, despite being advertised with the hard drive. The case is at least 1/4 inch shorter/smaller than the stated length (for a really tight fit) and the side pocket is too tight to put the usb cord into it. Don't waste your money! I would give it ZERO stars if I could.

Comment: I have several USB drives, including some Toshiba and Seagate drives. I was using grocery store zipper bags to hold them so I could keep the little USB cord with the drive and not have it wander off. Well, this looked pretty good the last time I got my deal of the day Toshiba drives, so went for it. I think that for the money this is a great solution, and a lot more secure and protective than my zipper bags. The thing that made this a really good case was the little pouch for the now-very-short USB cables. It keeps the cable handy, and yet by not keeping it in with actual drive keeps from scratching or marring the surface of the drive. I really don't think this case would make that much difference to the drive if you dropped it off a table onto a hard floor, but any padding is better than none, and could make the difference between a completely dead drive and perhaps a wounded one.

So far all of my Maxtor, Seagate and Toshiba drives have fit beautifully in the case, and it is just right for these drives, and yet snug enough that they don't move about much while safely zipped inside. I have seen cases similar to this for double the price being asked here, so think this is a good value as well, considering that it is made by a well-known company and seems reasonably constructed. Yeah, I think this is a huge step up from the ol' zipper bags in many ways, and helping to protect the drive from both thermal and "drop" shock makes it worth the small investment. The nice big zipper also makes it a snap to get the drive into and out of the case. Now that I have some personal experience with the case, I plan to get a few more for some of my other drives.

Comment: This bag is light, durable, and convenient! Couldn't have asked for anything better to store my external hard drive, which I plan to haul around campus with me (I'm a college student). Great buy! Highly recommended.
