Summary: Pleasantly Surprised 2007-10-13
Comment: I've been carrying a Macbook laptop I bought a month ago in a Kensington Saddlebag I bought 4 years ago for my G4 Powerbook 667. When I made that purchase I was driving from one Boston area suburb to another as my commute. I now ride a bus for 45 minutes into Boston MA every day. Then I usually have to take a subway, or walk, depending on how much time I have to get to work, across town to the Back Bay area.

While the Kensington Saddlebag is very handy in that It can hold ANYTHING I ever want to carry, it's also VERY bulky. I've been hoping to get a MacCase or Crumpler bag that was just a sling bag, however, I don't think I can swing that with the new MacBook purchase too.

Therefore I've been cruising for bargains. I purchased this bag just today. It holds everything I regularly carry in the Kensington, and has a padded internal pocket for the Macbook, and a back area under that flap that is actually padded enough I'd consider carrying a second laptop there if I needed too.

This is definitely NOT a student's bag. Much more for the commuter. Stylish enough for a young urbanite, without being so big that you can't carry it on public transit. Holds my Macbook (In an In-Case sleeve) my Nintendo DS, my iPod and the power supplies for sundry.

There is also a big pocket in the flap and another on the rear that work well for my other various supplies. The only thing it doesn't carry well is my Monster Screen Cleaning fluid, which I shouldn't be carrying anyway (I have the HUGE bottle, not the portable one ;) )

It's not as nice as the slings I wanted, but as they started at $119 AND I found this bag (like the other reviewers) at my local TJ Maxx for only $25. All in all, I'd call it a nice alternative. The Strap is heavy duty webbing almost like a seatbelt, and the body is definitely tear resistant nylon. All in all I think it's a great little bag to carry my daily sundries.

Summary: Meh.. 2007-09-24
Comment: I'm a fan of Victorinox/Swiss Gear/Wegner products. I don't know why, really. They aren't particularly more durable I find, maybe it's because of the Red T. Anyway, like the other reviewer, bought this bag for $25 at my local Marshalls.

I agree that the compartments aren't padded, but the bag's meant to be as thin as possible. My major problem is the Velcro. I feel like they went out of their way to find the loudest Velcro there was on earth. The only reason I've taken note is because I've been in class many times, needing to get something out of the bag, and the loud *crrrrrrip* is disruptive. If I leave the bag open, the Velcro stick to the carpet, which is a softer, but still audible sound.

It barely holds more than my laptop and one text book before it becomes noticeable bulky.

All in all...I kinda feel like it's a waste of money.

Summary: Depends what you pay...not the greatest 2007-07-13
Comment: I was able to get this bag at TJ Maxx for 25 bucks plus tax, making it a decent buy for the money. I really wanted the Tumi Large Messenger Bag but, sniff sniff, a little pricey. I just saw the Jupiter, and, although I didn't love it, I thought it wasn't a bad buy.

It really isn't...for 25 dollars, that is. Even Amazon's decent price, however, of fifty seems a little much for a bag of this caliber.

"Padded compartments", not so padded. I don't know, it just seems a little "cheap". The online picture is slightly promising; don't be fooled, it's just basic nylon. A fair number of compartments, however. Overall, the bag seems like something a highschooler would buy. Not very professional for the business world.

Tell you what, go buy me the Tumi large computer messenger in orange color, and I'll trade you for this bag, FREE shipping.
