Perfect for light travel and equally suited to meetings, Samsonite's XL45 large notebook computer case offers durable 1680 Denier Ballistic Nylon fabric with EVA foam backing and roomy compartments for your computer and other personal effects. Other features include molded corner protectors, TPR grips and pads, gusseted pockets, and an adjustable, padded shoulder strap. The case's 1680D ballistic nylon is a standard, even weave of durable nylon originally specified by the Federal Government for military use. The term "denier" (D) refers to the size of the yarn used: the larger the denier, the bigger the yarn.

The comfortable textured grips on zipper pulls, carry handles, and pads for the shoulder straps are all made from TPR (Therma Plastic Rubber). The XL45's padded shoulder straps are optimized for comfy transport: non-slip pads attached to the strap evenly distribute the case's weight across your shoulder, while a helpful swivel clip at the end of the strap minimizes twisting.

Stash your laptop (screen size up to 17 inches) in a padded, fully lined compartment specifically designed to carry and protect it while you're traveling. The notebook compartment is surrounded by 10 mm of foam padding for added protection.

Last but certainly not least, a handy organizer pocket offers areas to store writing instruments, cellular phones, PDA's and other accessories.

Summary: Price is right, takes a beating, and holds my 17" laptop perfectly. 2008-01-10
Comment: Just like the title states. Inspiron 9300 fits like a glove, and it's the one piece of travel gear that has really lasted. I travel all over the country, and this bag has taken all sorts of abuse. I haven't had a single issue with the craftsmanship.

My ONE issue is the velcro on the front flap. If you put anything of decent size in the front, forget about that thing staying closed. If not for that little nag, this thing would be perfect.

Comment: The accommodating dimensions of this unit are wrong. laying a ruler flat in the bottom of this case measures barely over 12 inches not close to the 13.5 advertised. So this will not work for what I need.

Summary: Impressive 2007-05-09
Comment: This carrying case impressed me when i first got it. The case is made of very high quality material and is very sturdy. One thig that I do not like about it though is the inside of the case where the laptop goes. The zippers around the edges of the inside, which hold the foam cushion, made a few small scratches on the edge of my laptop. I resolved this issue by wrapping my laptop in a shirt before placing it in the case. Other than that, this case is very good.

Comment: We found this Samsonite XL45 Large Notebook Case to be everything advertised. It easily holds the 17" Toshiba Notebook and is loaded with options. The large opening makes it convenient too. Definitely glad we purchased this model.
