Comment: Great brand new condition and fast delivery. When I ordered the product, I guess I expected the material to be a little harder and thicker. I was hesitant to keep it at first, but a friend convinced me that I should just keep it and try it out. I'm pretty glad I kept it. It's a nice satiny material, not too thick and not too thin so it doesn't add too much more weight to my beloved 17" Macbook Pro. I like the nice grip the material has- it makes it easier to carry and safer when on tables and surfaces. One part that "clicks" onto the computer is a little difficult to remove. I feel like I have to push/pull too hard sometimes. But most of the time when I need to take the cover off to clean it I can get it off. I also wish there were more available colors of this case for the 17". I thought it was ridiculous that even the manufacturers only make black and clear in this model. It's discriminatory against us folks with 17"s. Good product though.

Comment: Haven't seen a better product yet but still doesn't deserve 5 or 4 stars. The rubber coating rubs off very easily. Within the first week in my backpack the cover looks old and well used. Now granted it does the job and my computer is perfectly protected and shows no sign of wear. Just wish this cover didn't wear so easily, its kind of annoying to have a junky looking cover after a week when it looked so beautiful out of the box. Oh well I'm happy I got it either way.

Comment: It does protect the laptop but a thin film of plastic starts to peel off within a few days where you place your fingers to open the laptop. Functional but not well made.

Comment: I had read several reviews prior to ordering the speck laptop cover. While it sounded like what I wanted to use to protect my new laptop, I wasn't convinced until I received it. It is exactly what I wanted, and I'm very glad I ordered it. It was extremely simple to snap on and stays on with no trouble. It's made of two single pieces of hard plastic (one piece snaps on to the top of the laptop, and the other piece snaps on to the bottom of the laptop). I have not had any trouble with overheating - the vents in the bottom appear to work extremely well. I have no trouble plugging in accessories or inserting disks. The outside of the cover is texturized to feel a little like rubber, although it is made of hard plastic. The finely textured shell helps keep keep a better grip on my laptop, reducing potential of dropping it. The speck laptop case is a clear winner.

It looks and functions just like it is advertised to. I love mine and I'm certain you'll love yours too.

Comment: Wouldn't recommend this product at all. Although it seems to provide good protection, it has two major shortcomings that I have noticed. First, I noticed that the bottom piece is sagging in the middle, which drives me nuts. I believe for the asking price, you would get top quality. Second, I pulled the covers off the other day to clean underneath, as recommended by the manufacturer, only to find scuff marks on my brand new $3,000 laptop. This product did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do. Now I have a brand new computer that merely sits on my desk, hasn't been moved once, only opened and closed, but looks as though it has spent the last ten years roaming the globe.
