SwissGear SA1908 ScanSmart Backpack in Black

Comment: this backpack is awesome! perfect size, very very comfortable... I was looking around for something just like this to replace my other laptop bag that was inconvienient to carry around, and this met and exceeded my expectations. very durable, I am very pleased with my purchase

Comment: I have been using the backpack for several weeks now. So far, I am very pleased. I travel every week for business and the TSA approved seperate laptop section makes airport security a breeze. The backpack is very comfortable and distributes the weight of all my gear (including the 17" laptop) very nicely.

Only a couple of negatives:
1. It would be nice if the zippered opening for each section opened more? The sections are deep, but the shallow openings makes it a bit of a hastle to see down to the bottoms easy for retrieval of items.

2. More pockets/organization. I am used to having more sections to store specific items (gps, external hard drives, cables, etc...). With this bag, most items just have to sit in main compartments. Not a big deal though.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking to lug a 17" laptop.

Comment: I am so happy with this backpack. There is so much space, and it is really comfortable. I ordered it to take on a climbing trip and am really glad I chose this bad. Also, I placed my order Sunday and had the product by Tuesday with just the standard shipping! I would HIGHLY recommend buying from this selling.

Comment: I bought this backpack from SwissGear and am delighted to own it. It easily accomodates my 15" Lenovo laptop, apart from a host of other stuff in the other 4 compartments, like adapter, mouse, USB, keys, mp3 player, check books, etc.

The USP of this product is its light weight and excellent packaging---looks real good in black with the red emblem at the top. I've carried lots of stuff in it during my local trips in NY and London, and am using it daily to work in India. It draws envious stares wherever I go.

The facility to scan a laptop without removing it from the bag is superb, but security guys in India are dimwits and insist on removing it fully.

I'd have given it 5 stars but for the absence of cushioning on the top handle; the back straps are adequately-cushioned though.

My pal wanted to buy one yesterday, but it looks like the price has risen steeply to $ 140---I had paid only $ 39.99 in March, 2010.

Comment: Awesome bag and exactly what I expected and more! Plenty of room for my laptop and many other things. Would highly reccomend, especially at the amazon price.
